The road to Bethlehem
The church parking lot becomes the road to Bethlehem: ten live scenes, in the order of the Christmas story, with actors in costume, painted sets and lantern light.
From past years.
Along the road, the story happens one scene at a time: Gabriel visits Mary, travelers crowd Bethlehem, shepherds gather by their fire, angels sing, and wise men follow the star. At the end of the road is the manger. Your family watches it all from the car.
Lithia Springs Methodist Church has put it on each December since the early 1990s, free to everyone, with volunteers who rebuild the road every year.

How
Stay in your car and drive slowly past the scenes. The drive through takes about five minutes.

Volunteer
Every December, neighbors become shepherds, angels and innkeepers. It takes 60 to 70 people a night: actors, plus people to build, park cars, greet, cook and help with costumes. Children are welcome as actors.
Registered volunteers eat free at 5 PM each night. Prep is at 6, showtime at 7, a break inside at 7:45, and done at 8:45.
